Finding Inspiration in Small Things
July 24, 2026
Lately, I've been realizing that creativity doesn't always come from sitting down with a plan. Sometimes it starts with something as simple as noticing the texture of tree bark on a walk, the shape of a mushroom after it rains, or a tiny patch of moss growing between rocks.
Those little moments have a way of sticking with me. Before long, I'm sketching ideas or reaching for a piece of clay to see if I can capture what caught my eye.
That's one of the reasons I started RiverAcademics. I wanted a place to share not only the things I create but also the things that inspire me to create them.
I don't have everything figured out, and I'm always learning something new. Whether it's experimenting with a different clay technique, trying to grow a new plant, or simply slowing down long enough to appreciate nature, every day teaches me something.
My hope is that this little corner of the internet encourages you to slow down, notice the beauty around you, and maybe create something of your own.
Thanks for being here.
